$80.00 $80.00
Description
Sabeline brushes are made from the ear hair of Russian Oxen and are died to a reddish color to resemble Kolinsky sable. Sabeline hair is larger in diameter than a human hair and springy. It does not taper at the tip so does not make a fine point.
It is extremely well suited for watercolors, acrylics, gouaches, oxides and glazes, and inks.
Sabeline is a springy and suitable for washes, stippling, hatching, cross hatching. The medium diameter Sabeline brush is springy and suitable for washes, stippling, hatching, cross hatching. It makes for a nice mildly coarse drybrush and does delightful organic lines and curves.
Sabeline doesn’t bog down with heavier media, or become too stiff for watercolor. It is one of the better brushes for drybrush technique and is also great for mixing colors on the brush and applying them directly to the canvas or paper.
The bamboo cane handle is hand carved and oiled. It is light in the hand and comfortable to use all day.
