The Orange Synthetic brushes are ideal when working with more viscus materials, such as for gouache paints, heavy body acrylics, oils. They are also great for people who like working with a spring-er or stiff-er brush. They are well suited for water and solvent based paints and highly resilient from wear and tear.
The fibers are both textured and tapered and do an excellent job of holding paint media.
They make a fine point.
Another great application for these brushes is for hatching, cross hatching dithering and dry brush techniques. Because they are stiff-er, they are great for producing anything that is grass like, feather like, bushes, tree leaves and so on.
The Orange Synthetic brushes are also very good for beginning painters. The stiff-er bristle provides a great tactile feedback. In fact, my most popular beginner brush for kids, is below, in the name of my itty-bitty Orange Synthetic bristle brush.
The shorter ones are the most responsive, and the longer ones are favored by people who like to do more expressive work.
