Potters are among my largest group of customers and collectively they buy just about every type of brush i offer. I’ve also made specialty brushes per requests from potters.

Note that I’ve added an asterisk “*” below to indicate the most popular brushes.

The demands of Pottery brushwork includes needs for the biggest, smallest, most course, the finest, the most precise brushes plus other brushes that help produce abstract results. Brushes for pottery use need to be very durable, responsive, and able to hold a lot of material that is not necessarily very viscous.

Really, there is nothing more challenging for a brush than working with the common materials of pottery.

One of my bigger exhibits is the annual NCECA conference. NCECA is short for the National Council for Education of the Ceramic Arts. Around 6,000 Pottery teachers, professional and student potters and pottery enthusiasts attend this conference and NCECA reaches into just about every Art School, pottery studio, and a lot of the art supply industry.

The NCECA annual conference meets at a different location every year. While there are several typical commercial brush offerings at this show, and i’m the only one to make highly responsive, very durable and entirely hand made brushes. I’m delighted and very honored to note that my brushes have made it to just about every country on the planet due in a large part to those who attend the NCECA conference.

In addition to the NCECA conference, i exhibit at many of the top 10 rated juried art shows and other similar shows. Art shows attract a lot of very skillful potters. At nearly every show, up to around 30% of the visitors to my booth are potters.

Due to the large number of potters who buy my brushes, I offer a lot of brushes that are suitable for pottery brushwork.

Following is a listing of my brushes which are the most popular with potters. The recommendations below are based primarily on my experiences at the NCECA conferences over several years, where i’ve sold thousands of my best brushes.

Note that most of my brushes have a very fine tip. That one of my areas of specialty.

I’ve added an asterisk “*” to indicate the most popular brushes.
