I offer a wide selection of brush sets which fit into 2 general categories.
The first category are brushes of the same hair type and which differ in the brush diameter. I call these Family Sets. An example of this are my Blended Goat Hair and Synthetic sets. You can find the family sets under the Family Brush Sets by menu at the top of the page or buttons on the home page.
The second set are collections which i assembled based on popular feedback. I call these Specialty Sets. An example of a Specialty Set is my Small Diameter Watercolor And Aqueous Acrylic Set
Of course you are welcome to make up your own sets. The sets below are both recommended and good guidelines on how to put together a set of brushes. Any grouping of 3 or more brushes is considered a set
Below are the Family Sets

Family Sets
My Goat and Synthetic Blend brushes are my most popular with those who use water based paints, inks and ceramic related media. I have several set offerings.
My Synthetic Sable Brushes are also very popular for those who use water based paints, inks and ceramic related media plus those who like a brush with a good springiness. I have several sets offerings.
My Brown Synthetic Brushes are also very popular for those who use water based paints, inks and ceramic related media plus those who like a brush with a good springiness. The Brown Synthetic Brushes are a tad stiffer than the Synthetic Sable Brush. This is one of the brush sets to get for someone when you are not sure what they will want. I have several set offerings.
My Orange Synthetic Brushes are popular with those who like brushes that are more springy and those who use more viscous materials. I have several set offerings.
My Stiff White Synthetic Brushes are popular with those who like brushes that are very springy, and those who use viscous materials, and those looking for a courser drybrush. I have several set offerings.
My Boar Hair Brushes are popular with those who like brushes that are very springy, and those who use viscous materials, and those looking for a courser drybrush. The world over, Boar Hair is the “go to” brush for those who use heavy body acrylics and oils. They are also great as a course drybrush and many Painters and Ceramic Artists enjoy using them. At the NCECA show, Boar Hair is one of my better sellers.
My Sable brushes are my highest performing lines of brushes. They do everything extremely well. The hair cost of these brushes is significantly higher than other brush types, plus the material is limited in supply. But if you want the best around…..
My Russian Sable brushes produce an ultra fine tip and are a soft brush. They are designed to work with water based paints and inks, but will also work with solvent based paints and inks. Solvents will accelerate the wear on brushes
My Siberian Elk brushes are my personal favorite and are the best performing brushes to be found anywhere. They have a springy nature which provides superb feedback, come to an ultra fine tip, hold a lot of paint, and are very durable. If you want the best, this is it
Goat Hair Brushes are the most widely used brushes the world over. Goat hair is fine, a little springy, holds a lot of ink or paint, and produces a fine point. Everyone loves these brushes.
Deer Hair Brushes are used mostly by Ceramic Artists and painters who like a brush that produces a course texture. Deer is a fairly springy brush and fun to work with.
Elk Hair Brushes are also used mostly by Ceramic Artists and painters who like a brush that produces a course texture. Elk is a little softer than Deer and a delight to work with.
Moose Hair Brushes are kind of an acquired taste, but many who use them absolutely love the results. Moose hair is very thick at the base and tapers to a fine tip. It is a springy brush designed to hold a lot of paint. While a comparatively small number of artists take the leap to buy and use Moose hair, artists from all disciplines love them.
Sabeline Hair Brushes are great for drybrush, hatching, stippling, washes, and just about anything other than fine detail work. Sabeline holds a lot of paint and had very uniform delivery. The hair diameter is larger and due to that it is a great effects brush. It is also one of the best of the longer bristle length brushes to use.
Pony Hair Brushes are very soft. They come from the chest hair of roughly 2 year old Ponies. The hair holds a lot of liquid and comes to a point. It is not springy and is best for someone who wants a brush that holds a lot of paint; for those who have a very quick hand, and for those who like a very soft drybrush. One of the best uses of a Pony Hair brush is someone with a quick hand and a light touch. The larger diameter brushes are also among the best for putting 2 to 4 colors on the brush and blending them on the canvas or on ceramics.
